Nina Nesansala Rajapakse
Research Volunteer
Nina is a first-year medical student at the Schulich School of Medicine. Prior to attending Western University, she completed undergraduate degrees in biochemistry and nursing at McMaster University. Nina works as a Registered Nurse in the emergency department at the Brantford General Hospital, and has enjoyed caring for a diverse population of people of various ages and stages in life. Nina’s interests involve pediatric health and health promotion, specifically in promoting enriching, enjoyable, and sociable play to better health outcomes later in life. As she continues her medical education she hopes to gain experience in pediatric research methods, and to use this knowledge to become a better patient-centred healthcare provider. In her spare time, Nina enjoys rock climbing and volunteering within her community.
